International World Condom Day is celebrated on February 13th, a day before Valentine’s Day.

The theme for this year’s celebration in Kenya is ‘Safer is Sexy, Always in Fashion’.

It has been slated for February 13, just before Valentine’s Day to encourage lovers to practice safe sex.

In observance of the holiday, the organization distributes free condoms.

The day, celebrated across the world was created by the US-based nonprofit AIDS Healthcare Foundation, which was established in 1987 in reaction to the HIV/AIDS crisis.

The purpose of the day was to serve as a reminder to the public that using condoms is among the best ways to prevent unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases.

By dedicating a day to highlight the benefits of condom use and advocating for its availability and accessibility, International Condom Day aims to empower people to make informed decisions about their sexual health and well-being.

It also serves as an opportunity to break down the stigma surrounding condoms and promote open discussions about sexual health, ultimately contributing to healthier communities worldwide.
