Three individuals have been arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts on charges of Forgery, Making a document without authority, and uttering a false document.
The suspects, John Onyango Odhiambo, 44, Adan Bagajo Lamma, 44, and George Ereng Lotieng, 35, were implicated after investigations revealed they had used fake academic certificates to secure jobs as drivers at the Sports, Arts and Social Development Funds (SASDF).
John Onyango submitted a falsified 2011 KCSE certificate from Starays Hope Community Center, Nairobi.
Adan Lamma presented a counterfeit 1998 KCSE certificate from Marsabit Boys High School, despite dropping out in form two and the fact that the school did not exist during the 1998 KCSE exams.
George Ereng submitted a forged KCSE certificate from St. Marks Boys High School, Cherangany, which did not exist as of 2010, and the examination code on his certificate belonged to Ruthimitu Secondary School.
A Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) report revealed that John Onyango had altered his grades to achieve a mean grade of D+ to meet job qualifications.
The Public Service Commission has indicated that over 2,000 government employees have used forged qualifications for employment or promotions.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is collaborating with other agencies to investigate these cases.
