AAR Healthcare Kenya has announced having reached a peak of 360,000 patients annually, at its 29 outpatient centers across Kenya.

The number of patients accessing high-quality healthcare services through AAR Healthcare’s outlets is now set to increase as the company rallies to reach 40 outpatient centers, and onboard five more specialists for a total of 25.

These announcements were made as AAR Healthcare celebrated 40 years of business, during which the brand has built a reputation that sees a remarkable 85% of its patients returning for healthcare support.

The company’s management is now reviewing its expansion options to cover the increasing demand for high-quality, modern, and accessible healthcare services.

Since its founding in 1984, AAR Healthcare has been a pioneer in the private healthcare sector in East Africa, introducing the concept of Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) and setting the standard for outpatient care. AAR Healthcare evolved from offering basic emergency and outpatient services to becoming a leader in preventive, curative, and diagnostic healthcare.

“Reaching 40 years is a remarkable achievement, and it reflects the trust that our patients and partners have placed in us,” said Elizabeth Wasunna, General Manager, of AAR Healthcare Kenya.

Wasunna also highlighted the company’s plans for growth, noting,

“We are looking to be in as many regions as possible ensuring that the three of every four Kenyans who get their primary healthcare from outpatient centers have access to the best and affordable services,” she added.

Equipped with top-of-the-range medical equipment and laboratories, alongside highly – qualified and experienced medical professionals, AAR Healthcare offers comprehensive medical services including specialized treatment for cardiovascular, upper respiratory, gastrointestinal, and dermatological diseases, as well as dental and pediatric medical services, across many other specialties.

In affirmation of its high quality of services, seven of AAR Healthcare’s newest outpatient centres Karen, Mountain Mall, Green House, Nairobi City Center, Ngong, Syokimau and Rongai – received SafeCare Level 5 certification, joining the Sarit and Williamson clinics in the much-coveted certification.

AAR Healthcare is committed to advancing healthcare while recognizing its broader responsibilities toward community well-being and environmental sustainability.

As the organization expands and innovates, it has integrated Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) indicators into its strategic framework, guiding its efforts toward achieving specific social and environmental objectives.

In line with this commitment, AAR Healthcare actively supports the communities it serves. Its impactful deworming and handwashing programs benefit over 200,000 children each year, while career mentorship initiatives reach approximately 7,000 students annually, helping to shape the next generation.

Additionally, through the Tree for Health (T4H) initiative, AAR Healthcare has planted more than 256,000 trees in schools and public spaces over the past five years, promoting environmental stewardship and encouraging healthier lifestyles for children in the community.
