KUCCPS Opens Portal for 2025 University, TVET & TTC Placements

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has officially opened its portal for the 2025 university, TVET, and Teacher Training College (TTC) placements.

In a statement released on Friday, March 28, KUCCPS invited 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates to submit applications for their preferred courses.

The placement service also encouraged those interested in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and TTC programmes to take advantage of the open portal.

“Attention to the 2024 KCSE cohort! You can now apply for degree courses via the KUCCPS official portal,” the placement service announced.

“The KUCCPS portal is open for Degree, TVET and TTC applications. Target; 2024 KCSE for Degree courses and 2000-2024 KCSE for TVET and TTC courses,” the placement service added.

While inviting applications, the placement service stated that the application portal would remain open for three weeks, with the application window closing on April 21, 2025.

Candidates seeking to apply for the course were urged to visit the KUCCPS portal https://t.co/6ssPlKURCd

To access the KUCCPS portal, students must enter their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) index number, the year they sat for the exam, and a password.

KUCCPS has advised applicants to use their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) index number or birth certificate number as their password.

The portal provides options for placement in 40 public universities, which qualify for both government scholarships and Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) funding. Additionally, 29 private universities are available, though they are only eligible for HELB loans. Students can also apply to 263 public colleges, which qualify for both government scholarships and HELB support.

The portal’s opening comes just two days after the Court of Appeal temporarily allowed the government to proceed with implementing the new university funding model. This decision enabled KUCCPS to officially open the application portal for student placements.
