Detectives in Makindu, Makueni County have launched investigations into the death of a clinical officer attached to Makindu Hospital whose body was found decomposing in his house.
The body was discovered by his neighbors who complained of a foul smell coming from the house.
36-year-old Shem Mali worked as a clinical officer at the Makindu medical hospital.
Shem had not been seen for days until end of July when the body was found, police said.
Police officers visited the scene, where they found the body of the deceased lying on the bed with no visible injuries but had decomposed.
The cause of the death is yet to be known.
The body was moved to the Makindu Subcounty Hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy.
Separately, police are investigating the suspected murder of a 49-year-old woman whose body was found in a bush in Kahawa West area, Nairobi.
The woman was identified as Rose Njoki, police said.
Her half-naked body was found at the scene on Wednesday evening by pedestrians.
She seemed to have been killed elsewhere and body dumped there.
Police said the body had visible head injuries with blood stains and signs of strangulation with both hands and mouth tied with a piece of cloth.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations into the incident, police said.
The motive of the murder was not immediately established.
