City Hall Officers from Nairobi County Government today raided Habanos Club along Northern Bypass Roysambu in response to numerous noise complaints from local resident associations.
The sting operation b y the City Hall Officerswas carried out by the Environmental Monitoring Compliance and Enforcement team, the City Inspectorate, and the Roysambu Sub County team.
The club, which lacks soundproofing, has been a major source of disturbance for residents of Ridgeways and Garden Estate. “We came here last night to measure the noise levels, and it was shocking. This morning, we conducted the raid, arrested several individuals, and confiscated music equipment, which will be used as evidence. Those arrested will be booked at Central Police Station before being arraigned in court,” said the operation head, who requested anonymity.
Warning to Other Noise Polluters
City Hall Officers attached to Environmental Monitoring Compliance and Enforcement team has issued a warning to other noise polluters, including clubs and churches, stating that their days are numbered.
“We are coming for them. We must regulate noise in every estate. Churches are becoming notorious, and we want to tell them that no one is above the law,” the official added.
