Dola Group, a leading producer of premium products including flour, edible oil, and soap, has kicked off the Dola Super Cup Tournament, where 56 football teams from six coastal counties will battle for the top prize of KSh 1,000,000.
The three-month tournament, coordinated by the Mombasa County Football Association, features 12 teams from Mombasa and Kwale each, while Lamu, Tana River, Taita Taveta, and Kilifi each have eight teams.

Following its successful run in the Coastal counties, the Dola Super Cup Tournament will be rolled out to include other regions across Kenya.

“This initiative aims to foster community empowerment and support local talent in Kenya, aligning with Dola Group’s commitment to community engagement and youth development through sports. This platform will provide critical exposure for the players to opportunities both locally and internationally,” said Saddam Suleiman, Head of Marketing at Dola Group.

The tournament seeks to unite communities from the six coastal counties through a common event, providing a platform for young football players to showcase their talents, hone their skills and achieve personal growth.

“Sport plays an important role in society by bringing people together. It builds solidarity and reminds us of the importance of being connected to a community. This is well demonstrated in football,” added Suleiman.

The competition will feature four groups of three teams each, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout stages. Each team will register 25 members – 20 players and 5 officials.

The tournament will progress from the county level to inter-county matches, where the winning teams from each county will compete.

The grand winner will receive KSh 1,000,000, while the first and second runners-up will be awarded KSh 500,000 and KSh 250,000 respectively.

The team finishing in fourth position will be awarded KSh 100,000. County-level winners will be awarded a total of KSh 600,000, while county-level runners-up will receive KSh 480,000.
The Most Valuable Player (MVP), Best Player (Golden Boot), Best Goalkeeper (Golden Glove), and Best Coach will each be awarded KSh 50,000.

The opening match will feature Mvita 1 against Likoni 1 at Mombasa Sports Club on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 4 p.m.
