Forward Travellers’ Sacco Suspended after a Tragic Accident along Jogoo Road

Forward Travelers has suffered a huge lose after suspension of the Sacco on Monday barring any of their vehicles from the operation.

This comes a week after a fatal a accident involving the Sacco’s vehicle along Jogoo Road, Nairobi on Saturday May 11, 2024.

The bus was coming from Kayole through Manyanja road, reached Donholm stage and picked more passengers.

Later, the conductor lost his life and 21 other passengers sustained injuries when the bus overturned along Jogoo road, 5 kilometers from the Donholm stage.

Police reported that the accident involved a bus belonging to Forward Travellers Sacco on Saturday morning.

According to a report from Base Commander Buruburu, the incident occurred around 8:45 am.

“The Mitsubishi bus with registration KCW 072E was traveling towards the city center from Donholm when the driver suddenly made a right turn near Rabai junction. Subsequently, the bus overturned resulting in the death of the conductor on the spot as the bus fell on him,” read the report.

Four passengers sustained severe injuries, while 17 others escaped with minor injuries.

All the victims of the ill fated Forward Travelers matatu were taken to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital for treatment.

Authorities transferred the deceased’s body to City Mortuary awaiting identification and autopsy.
