The government is ramping up efforts to finalize the Githunguri Level 5 Hospital, with plans for its imminent handover to the Kiambu County Government.
Principal Secretary for the State Department for Medical Services, Mr. Harry Kimtai, along with Principal Secretary for Defense Dr. Patrick Mariru and Githunguri Member of Parliament Hon. Gathoni Muchomba, recently visited the site to assess the progress of the facility. During their visit, they held discussions with Kiambu County officials to establish the hospital’s timeline and key deliverables.
The Githunguri Level 5 Hospital, once operational, will feature 350 beds and is anticipated to significantly alleviate the patient load currently handled by the Kiambu Level 5 Hospital. This new facility will provide specialized healthcare services to residents of Kiambu and the surrounding counties, enhancing the region’s healthcare infrastructure.
Mr. Kimtai expressed optimism about the project’s advancement, underscoring the government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare accessibility for the local population. “The progress we have seen today is encouraging. We are dedicated to ensuring that the Githunguri Level 5 Hospital is completed on schedule and begins serving the community as soon as possible,” he said.
The accelerated efforts to complete the Hospital highlight the government’s dedication to improving healthcare facilities and services across the country. The new hospital is expected to play a pivotal role in meeting the healthcare needs of the local population, providing much-needed relief to existing medical facilities and ensuring better health outcomes for residents.
