How a Laikipia County MP and Partners Transformed Olmoran Primary School

In a momentous event at Olmoran Primary School, Kirima Sub-County, the community gathered for a groundbreaking celebration marking the commencement of a significant educational infrastructure project.

Benson Kuria Kamara, the esteemed Member of Parliament for Laikipia North Constituency, joined forces with the Human Practice Foundation, an NGO, and M-Pesa to initiate the construction of new classrooms fully equipped with chairs and lockers.

This partnership culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), securing a generous contribution amounting to 36 million Kenyan Shillings.

The occasion was not just a symbolic gesture; it underscored a commitment to enhancing the educational landscape in Kirima Sub-County.

Residents expressed deep gratitude for Hon. Benson Kuria Kamara’s unwavering support and trust in his leadership.

The planned infrastructure includes: Two ECDE Classes: Dedicated spaces for Early Childhood Development Education, ensuring a nurturing environment for the youngest learners.

Six Upper Primary Classes: Expanded facilities to accommodate the growing student population and enhance learning opportunities.

One ICT Hub: A state-of-the-art Information and Communication Technology hub, essential for equipping students with digital skills crucial in today’s world.

One Library: A resource center that will enrich students’ knowledge and foster a culture of reading and research.

Six Door Girls’ Toilet Block: Improving sanitation facilities to promote hygiene and health among female students.

Six Door Boys’ Toilet Block: Similar enhancements for male students, ensuring equitable access to sanitary facilities.

Four Door Staff Toilet: Facilities for the school’s staff, supporting their welfare and comfort.

The commitment to resource the library and ICT hub accordingly reflects a comprehensive approach to modernizing educational resources at Olmoran Primary School.

As the construction commences and plans unfold, Benson Kuria Kamara’s collaborative efforts with the Human Practice Foundation and M-Pesa Safaricom exemplify proactive governance and community engagements.
