Inaugural World Chambers Federation Africa Summit to be Held in Kenya in 2025

The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) on Monday announced that Nairobi will host the inaugural World Chambers Federation Africa Summit in June 2025.

The announcement was made official by Dr. Erick Rutto, President of the KNCCI, during a press briefing with journalists in Nairobi.

Rutto shared the exciting news, highlighting that KNCCI emerged victorious in a highly competitive bidding process, surpassing several formidable contenders.

He expressed pride and gratitude for the robust efforts of KNCCI and the unwavering support of their partners, which played a crucial role in securing the bid.

The World Chambers Federation Africa Summit is expected to be a transformative event, bringing together over 4,500 participants from more than 70 countries worldwide.

This includes key stakeholders from various sectors, such as business leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators from across Africa and beyond.

The summit aims to foster dialogue, collaboration, and economic growth, offering a pivotal opportunity to shape the future of commerce and industry on the continent.

Rutto emphasized the significance of hosting the summit in Kenya, noting that it would signal to the world the nation’s confidence as a regional hub and the strength of its private sector.

He also highlighted Kenya’s critical role in the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and its position as a key investment destination.

“This prestigious event is a testament to the thriving business environment and the dynamic economy of Kenya. It will draw in investors, create opportunities for trade and partnerships, and significantly boost our tourism and hospitality sectors,” said Rutto. “Moreover, it will enhance Kenya’s reputation as a vibrant and innovative economy capable of hosting global events of such magnitude.”

Dr. Rutto stated that KNCCI is committed to ensuring the success of the summit through collaboration with various stakeholders, including the government, private sector, regional blocs, and the international community. He assured that KNCCI’s rich global network and dedicated trade missions have been instrumental in achieving this honor.

He noted that the summit aligns perfectly with KNCCI’s agenda to promote economic development, facilitate trade, and foster a conducive business environment in Kenya and Africa at large.

He also extended heartfelt appreciation to the World Chambers Federation for entrusting Kenya with the prestigious event. He also expressed deep gratitude to the KNCCI Board, NGC, Secretariat, and partners for their relentless efforts and support.
