KPA Emerges Best Overall Stand in Promoting International Trade and Export During Nakuru ASK Show

Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) delivered an outstanding performance at the Nakuru Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) Show, highlighting its crucial role in supporting the agricultural sector through international trade.

KPA participated in 10 competition categories, winning seven and securing second place in the remaining three.

Following a rigorous judging process, KPA was named the best overall stand in promoting international trade and export, best Large Trade Stand (Commercial and Industry), best Stand in Embracing Information Technology and Communication Systems, best Non-Agricultural Organization Stand, best stand in the Application of Environmental Quality Standards, best stand in Youth Activities and Empowerment Programs, and the government stand that best interpreted the current theme.

Additionally, KPA achieved first runner-up positions in three categories: best Organization in Community Service, best in Viable Transport, and best in Cohesion and Integration.

Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi, representing President William Ruto, officiated the exhibition’s opening at the Nakuru Show Grounds.

The CS emphasized the ASK Show’s importance as a platform for showcasing the latest agricultural innovations.

With agriculture contributing 22 percent to Kenya’s GDP and being the highest source of employment, he reiterated the government’s commitment to the sector’s growth and sustainability.

Earlier, the CS toured the KPA stand, where he was warmly received by General Manager Corporate Services Mr. Edward Kamau, acting Manager Corporate Communication Mr. Jones Buchere and Chairman of the KPA Show Committee Peter Odera.

This year’s theme, “Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth,” underscores KPA’s significant strides in facilitating trade and enhancing business operations within the country and the region.
