Laini Saba MCA Lauds EACC for Arresting Corrupt Chief Officers

Nairobi County Assembly Deputy Majority Leader John Musila, also known as Kaende, has commended the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) for its recent actions against corrupt officials in the country.
Musila, who represents Laini Saba Ward, stated that the arrest of these officials marks the end of an era where vulnerable Kenyans were exploited while seeking solutions to their problems.
In a notable case in Laini Saba Ward, Kibra Constituency, Chief Irungu Kabugi and Village Elder Isaya Irekwa were apprehended last week by anti-corruption officers. They were accused of demanding bribes from residents to prevent the demolition of structures built on riparian land.
“EACC last month arrested the Assistant Chief for Kibera Laini Saba Location Anthony Irungu Kabugi and his village elder Isaya Irekwa Simani, after they demanded a bribe of Kes.50,000 from a Pastor at Pentecostal Assemblies of God Church in Laini Saba, so as not to demolish the church which the officials declared to be constructed on riparian land. In threatening to demolish the church, the officials purported that it was part of ongoing Government initiatives to address the current floods disaster,” Kaende told journalists on Tuesday at his City Hall office.
Kaende also urged for the immediate replacement of the duo due to their involvement in corrupt activities.
