Machakos: Police retrieve body floating on River Athi

Police In Yatta, Machakos County are investigating the death of a man whose body was found floating in River Athi.
The body was found in Kathithu village and taken to a local mortuary.
In the same area, the body of Joseph Ngao Muli was found lying near his home.
Police found a lifeless body, which had no visible injuries and moved it to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.
The cause of the death of the man is yet to be known.
In a separate incident, a man believed to be a street urchin slipped into the Nairobi River and drowned.
According to witnesses, the man was walking on the banks of the river in the Globe Cinema area on Wednesday evening when he slipped into the water.
His body was stuck between two rocks as good Samaritans tried to save him in vain.
The Police said he drowned moments later.

A group of divers ventured into the water and removed the body.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
