MSEA Meru Team Pledges Support for Automotive Engineering Students’ Eco-friendly Innovation
The Micro and Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA) Meru team visited Nkabune Technical Training Institute (TTI) to meet with Bonface Kinyua Wambeti and Clinton Bundi, two talented students pursuing Automotive Engineering.
The highly skilled duo has developed an innovative project known as the Eco-friendly Cleaning Machine, designed to prevent respiratory diseases such as asthma and bronchitis caused by dust.
The two students showcased their project at the Mount Kenya region competition for TVETs, where they impressively ranked 4th out of 27 participants.
The Meru team has committed to supporting Bonface and Clinton by assisting with marketing efforts and connecting them with relevant agencies to help upscale their product.
The team is advocating for a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Authority and TVETs, which would benefit not only the students but also the Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) in the Jua Kali sector.
Such an MOU could provide enhanced learning opportunities, training, and direct pathways to employment for students. It would also give MSEs access to a skilled workforce, support for innovation, and collaboration opportunities that can drive business growth and sector development.
Nationally, MSEA operates under the wise and skillful leadership of Director General and Chief Executive Officer Henry Rithaa, who continues to champion initiatives that foster innovation and growth within the MSE sector.
