Nairobi Senator Claims Ruto Will Lose 2027 Election, Even with Raila’s Support

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has made bold statements regarding President William Ruto’s re-election prospects in 2027. He claims that the incumbent president will lose, even with the support of his political rival, Raila Odinga.

The remarks, which have stirred political debate, reflect the growing discontent with Ruto’s administration and its performance since he took office in 2022.

Sifuna, who is also the Secretary-General of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), argued that the current government’s failure to meet its promises to the people would ultimately lead to Ruto’s downfall.

He emphasized that the 2027 election would not be won by political machinations but rather by the government’s ability to deliver on its promises.

“Even if Raila Odinga were to support Ruto, the President would still face a loss in 2027. Kenyans are not fooled by empty promises,” Sifuna remarked during a televised interview.

He further added that ODM would continue to reject any alliances with parties or coalitions that do not prioritize the welfare of the people.

According to Sifuna, the party’s ideology is grounded in pro-people policies that focus on uplifting Kenyans, not maintaining power for its own sake.

“ODM will only partner with parties that share our vision of governance. We are committed to ensuring that the government is accountable and that it works for the people,” he stated.

Sifuna’s comments also come at a time when political speculation about potential alliances for the 2027 elections is rife.

While some of Odinga’s allies have hinted at the possibility of working with Ruto, Sifuna remains steadfast in his belief that ODM will not compromise on its principles
