Real Estate Stakeholders Condemn Abduction of Kikuyu-Based Surveyor

Real Estate Stakeholders have strongly condemned the recent abduction of Kiambu-based land surveyor Stephen Kigathe.
In a statement to newsrooms, Kinyua Wairatu, chair of the Association of Real Estate Stakeholders (RESA), denounced the abduction, emphasizing that every Kenyan has the right to express their views without fear.
“This is one of the saddest events to ever occur. We condemn this act in the strongest terms and assert that Kenya is a free state where everyone has the right to express themselves,” said Wairatu.
Kigathe was arraigned in court and charged with arson. According to the charge sheet, he was accused of burning Kikuyu Township offices on June 25, 2024, with damages valued at Sh20 million.
In his statement, Wairatu urged leaders to avoid divisive politics and focus on development.
“We are losing billions due to the political tensions we are witnessing. Leaders should calm down and promote peace,” he said.

The Association of Real Estate Stakeholders is a renowned organization that brings together industry experts, real estate companies, and professionals with the shared goal of restoring confidence in real estate investments.
The Association also emphasises on sustainable development in the real estate market to be able to attract tenants who are environmentally conscious.
