Sakaja Unveils Newly Revamped Mbagathi Hospital In Bid to Expand Health Services

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has opened the newly refurbished state-of-art Mbagathi Hospital, ready to serve city dwellers with enhanced medical services.
Sakaja highlighted the county’s significant efforts to transform the facility which it had undergone in 21 months citing the addition of advanced medical equipment and facilities.
“The story of Mbagathi Hospital is a testament to our commitment to change health care in Nairobi City,” he said.
“In the last 21 months, since my administration came into office, we have invested in upgrading this level 5 hospital so it can offer some of the best health care facilities in this catchment area.”
Among the new equipment the facility has been upgraded with is a biochemistry analyzer, also known as a clinical chemistry analyzer.
This device measures various chemicals and characteristics in biological samples, such as blood and urine and boosting the hospital’s diagnostic capabilities within the 47 counties.
While accompanied by the facility’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Alexander Irungu, County Health CECM Ms Suzanne Silantoi, launched other several new facilities.
These includes; a CT Scan Unit, a Critical Care Unit (CCU), a Dental Unit, a Complete Oxygen Piping System, a Maternity Theatre, a refurbished Renal Unit, a Neuro-trauma unit, Maternal and Child Health (MCH) services unit and a postnatal ward.
