Uhuru Sports Complex: A State-of-the-Art Hub for Youth Talent

The County Government of Nairobi proudly manages the Uhuru Complex Sports Facility, a state-of-the-art venue featuring a football pitch, a basketball court, and a versatile convertible court suitable for volleyball, handball, and basketball.

Additionally, the complex includes a social hall that can host indoor games such as chess and boxing.

This modern facility plays a crucial role in nurturing the talents of youth in Kariobangi South Ward and the larger Eastlands area. It also benefits various sports academies across Nairobi County, providing a much-needed venue for training and talent development, paving the way for potential careers in the multi-billion sports industry.

The construction of the Joe Kadenge Stadium (formerly City Stadium) and Woodley Stadium, alongside the completion of Dandora Stadium, underscores Governor Sakaja’s commitment to developing sports facilities and fostering young talent.

These initiatives reflect a broader strategy to enhance sports infrastructure and opportunities within Nairobi.

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja officially opened the refurbished Uhuru Sports Complex in Jerusalem, Nairobi on Saturday 23rd March.

Speaking at the opening, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja retaliated his commitment to improve and develop sports facilities in Nairobi in support of the youth to advance their talents and abilities.

“We will continue to build, develop and maintain more sports facilities in the city,” he said.
