Veteran KTN anchor dies after surgery complications

Veteran KTN news anchor Njoroge Mwaura is dead.

The legend anchor died after developing complications after he had undergone a surgery.

Confirming his untimely demise, his wife Lucy Njoroge said the husband had undergone the surgery at a hospital in Nairobi where he developed the complications before passing away.

Mwaura became famous for his Njoroge Notebook where he addressed various issues affecting the country.

Many journalists across the field have praised him for his mentorship referring to him as a TV legend.

The eloquence of Mwaura on TV screen and is a widely recognized trailblazer who paved way for many Primetime news anchors admired in the industry today.

The legenday anchor began his career at the National Broadcasting House- Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) as a young news anchor before transitioning to Kenya Television Network (KTN) when the station was starting out.

At the time, his move was seen as a huge milestone since he was one of the pioneer news

Mwaura enjoyed a working relationsjhip with the late veteran anchor Catherine Kasavuli whom they together co-anchored for years during the late 90s and early 2000s.

He was recalled in 2012 by KTN briefly after retiring to assist during a phase of rebranding.

He officially retired from broadcasting in 2013, leaving behind a legacy of mentorship and inspiration for a generation of journalists.

His death comes as the latest in the high-profile veteran Journalists death as a few days ago veteran broadcaster Leonard Mambo Mbotela was laid to rest after decades of a well-built journalism career.
