Former Nyeri Police boss appointed new PSRA Chair

Former Nyeri County Police Commander Adiel Nyange is the new chairperson for the board of Private Security Regulatory Authority.(PSRA)

This is after  president William Ruto gazetted his reappointment for three years last week Friday.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 11(1)(a) of the Private Security Regulation Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, re-appoint Adiel Nyange to be the Chairperson of the Private Security Regulatory Authority, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from February 7, 2025,” the notice by President William Ruto read in part.

The former county police boss previously served in the position for a short period of time after the revocation of Stephen Ng’ang’a’s appointment.

Further, on more appointments made by different ministries include Defence CS Soipan Tuya appointing Brigadier Jeremiah Maroko and Kioko Mwololo as members of the Defence  Forces Assessment Committee.

The two are expected to oversee proper management of the KDF pension scheme as they’ll serve alongside Colonel Symon Yator, Robert Maweu Mutual and Patricia Njau all for a three term.

Labour Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutual appointed Joel Chebii to the board of National Industrial Training (NITA) and he is expected to serve for three years.

Hannah Nyambura Ndung’u has been appointed chairperson of the Ministry of Water and Sanitation while John Kariuki will serve as the Secretary for the Ministry of Environment Audit committee.

They’ll lead alongside Patrick Mutisya Mbithi, Dorothy Chepngetich, Ololchike Spenser Sankale, and Timothy Munyole who will be members of the committee.

Water CS Erick Muuga also appointed Jael Jepchumba and Samuel Gitonga to the Hydrologists Registration Board.

Meanwhile, Lands CS Alice Wahome appointed Daniel Maina Mukiri and David Nyangau Siriba as members of the Land Surveyors’ Board for a two-year term.

Wahome also named Kombo Mwero, Christopher Kinyua Tiras, Erastus Chege Mwangi, and Fredrick Ouma Oduor to the same board, with their appointments taking effect immediately.

This is part of a broader restructuring effort aimed at improving government operations.
