MultiChoice Kenya, leading entertainment provider, is excited to announce that it will broadcast live all sporting disciplines during the upcoming Paris Olympics, set to commence in Paris, France, on July 26th, 2024.
Kenyans will have the opportunity to watch every medal event through nine channels on DStv and three channels on GOtv including DStv Stream, GOtv Stream and Showmax Mobile.
Over 80 Kenyans, including two-time Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge and 2020 Olympic champion Peres Jepchirchir, are set to lead Team Kenya in this year’s global spectacle.
In addition to athletics, Kenya anticipates success in sports such as rugby sevens, judo, fencing, volleyball, and swimming.

While the Summer Olympics traditionally featured 28 sports, the 2024 edition will include four additional sports- breakdancing, surfing, skateboarding, and sport climbing. The Paris 2024 Olympics will culminate on August 11th, 2024.
Kenya will also compete in women’s judo at the Olympics for the first time through javelin thrower turned judoka Zeddy Cherotich.
Additionally, Kenya will be represented in fencing by Alexandra Ndolo, who qualified for the Olympics and is currently training in France.
For the first time in Summer Olympics history, Paris 2024 will bring the Opening Ceremony into the heart of the city through the Seine River skipping the usual stadium ceremonies.
This will be held on July 26 from 8:30 pm, as the Paris 2024 Olympic Games promise to be an unprecedented experience, drawing on the natural light of the setting sun with all its nuances to illuminate the world’s best athletes as they travel down the Seine, in the heart of the French capital, offering an unforgettable spectacle.
A 6 km crossing along the Seine will follow, featuring artistic performances in a live setting. In all, 12 artistic tableaux will showcase Paris, its monuments, and bridges along the way. Several thousand athletes will be on the water, watched by hundreds of thousands of spectators.
