Four suspected robbers were yesterday arrested following an operation by Transnational Organized Crime detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Moyale, Marsabit County.
The first two identified as Dhenge Guyo Molu and Kotor Ali Jillo were intercepted at the Sessi area during the first operation by the detectives.
The arrests, which were made separately, led to the recovery of two firearms and live rounds of ammunition.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations report seen by Corporatewatch a pistol, Ksh.83, 000 and 169,995 Ethiopian Birr believed to have been stolen were recovered from the duo upon search.
The motorcycle they were using was also impounded and the suspects were taken to Moyale Police Station pending further action.
They are expected to be arraigned in court today.
In a second operation was a botched robbery which led to the arrest of Kelisa Dulacha Guyo and Wario Ana Halake.
The DCI said that the two were cornered at a shop within the Hilo Gold mine after a shopkeeper made a distress call.
Upon search, a rifle loaded with six live rounds was recovered.
