University of Eldoret (UoE) holds 9th Graduation Ceremony since inception

The University of Eldoret (UoE) a premier University that nurtures global leaders and innovators has held its 9th Graduation Ceremony since it was chartered as a fully-fledged University on 11th February, 2013.

The University, in its mission and vision to provide quality education, training, research and consultancy in Science, Agriculture and Technology to meet the needs and aspirations of a dynamic society has since inception established the Eldoret Town Campus in Eldoret Town (CBD) located at MUSCO building and a Liaison Office in Nairobi, housed on the 12th Floor of the Pension Towers.

Speaking during the 9th Graduation ceremony held on the 26th of August 2021, University of Eldoret (UoE) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Teresa Akenga said: “Congratulations to Class of 2021! As we usher you into the work environment, rife with digital rigor due to the new normal operational strategies, I urge you to take care, scale higher your performance and exploit your full potential to achieve your set goals. It is common knowledge that you may be the best student in your respective discipline, but if you cannot exploit your full potential, you might not be competitive enough in the job market. ”

The higher learning institution currently has nine schools offering unique and market oriented programs accredited by the Commission for University Education.

 

Agriculture and Biotechnology:

This is a Centre of excellence in agricultural sciences, technology development and transfer. The School offers quality and relevant academic programs, carries out innovative agricultural research and outreach activities producing highly skilled and innovative graduates.

 

Business and Management Sciences:

True to its name, the school offers programs in Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Tourism, Hotel and Hospitality Management and Project Management. The School constantly monitors developments in its environment which provides it with business trends and changes that enables the School to respond by introducing new academic programs or reviewing existing ones to meet current market demands.

Economics:

Here, the key focus is on Economics. Research has shown that study of Economics will equip the students with skills required to resolve some of the fundamental issues facing societies today such as international trade and finance, unemployment and inflation, fiscal sustainability, energy and environmental policy, agricultural policy and governmental regulatory policies.

 

Education:

At University of Eldoret, the flagship courses of the School of Education are Ethics of Teaching and Ethics of Teaching Profession. The School is housed at the Main Campus at the Education Complex and also at the Eldoret Town Campus.

Engineering:

Based on a strong tradition of excellence in applied sciences, the University of Eldoret’s school of engineering offers Agricultural and Bio Systems Engineering (ABS), Civil and Structural Engineering and Mechanical and Production Engineering at undergraduate level. ABS is also offered at post-graduate level. The School’s programs are accredited by the Engineers’ Board of Kenya (EBK).

 

Environmental Studies:

This program is part of the national policy towards preparation for management of natural resources and the environment for sustainable development in Kenya. It offers cutting edge courses in GIS and Remote Sensing, and houses NEMA registered firm offering Environmental and Social Impact Assessment and Environmental Audit (ESIA/EA) consultancy services.

Human Resource Development:
The School of Human Resource Development aims to be a dynamic hub that provides solutions to human resource development challenges in Kenya and beyond.

 

Natural Resource Management:
The School has three departments including Forestry and Wood Science, Wildlife Management, and Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences. The three departments are pioneering academic departments for training in Natural Resource Management in East and Central Africa.

 

Science:
The School of Science aims to produce graduates with practical and intellectual skills in natural sciences and mathematics appropriate to the needs of the present and future Kenyan society.

The University of Eldoret Town Campus is a KASNEB, KNEC and TVETA Accredited Institution offering approved diploma courses in the fields of Business Management and Information Communication Technology (ICT).
The institution’s main campus as well as the Eldoret Town Campus is currently accepting new students for the September 2021 and January 2022 academic years respectively. The University of Eldoret is ISO 9001:2015 certified.
