A couple and their daughter have been living with the decomposing body of their kin for more than a month in the Nakuru YMCA estate.

The body of Rosemary Wahu, 60, was recovered from the house yesterday.

This was after her son, Boniface Mungai, who traveled from Kiambu County to establish her whereabouts, reported to the police.

The couple is being held for interrogation. Mungai said his uncle invited his sister to Nakuru on January 15 to meet his third wife.

Mungai and his mother were in communication until January 29 when it stopped and when he inquired, he was told all was well.

When Mungai insisted on having a conversation with his mother through his phone, the uncle started giving excuses.

At this point, Mungai realized something was not right and he decided to travel to Nakuru where they found Wahu’s body tucked in bed and flies were all over the room.

Shockingly, a neighbor, said when they inquired about the smell, they claimed it was a dead dog.

“Our detectives visited the scene and recovered the body which was badly decomposed. We sent the body to Nakuru County Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem,”Nakuru police boss stated.
