Bomet: 70-year-old man killed by his son over land dispute

Police officers in Bomet have launched a manhunt for a middle-aged man accused of killing his 70-year-father.

The lifeless body of the old man was found in his home, bearing deep cuts on the neck and shoulder.

Area residents suspect that the victim, a father of seven, was brutally murdered by one of his sons over a land dispute.

According to village elder Robert Mutai, the deceased returned to his original home in Bomet after spending some time in Narok County, a move that seemingly irked one of his sons.

According to the police, the suspected killer who owns a shop did not open today which raised an alarm among the residents of the area.

“Following the murder, his son, who is the prime suspect, didn’t open his shop as usual and also didn’t come to his father’s residence despite villagers raising alarm over the heinous act. We restrained an irate mob who wanted to go and break into his shop in the nearest kipisarwet trading center.” They sated.

The body of the deceased was moved to Longisa mortuary as the police proceed with investigations.
