Police inspector drowns in Machakos River

A  senior Police officer  based at KBC police Station in Matungulu sub-county, Machakos county lost his life yesterday after drowning in a river.

Chief Inspector of police Cyprian Walunya Kasili tragically drowned after his vehicle was submerged in River Kware.

The incident happened around 4:40 pm, Wednesday where the body of the officer was found after members of the public reported that a motor vehicle had submerged at River Kware.

It was then that police visited the scene and retrieved his body.

“It was established that he was driving back to his home in Lowland Estate within Kware Area.” A police report at KBC police station seen by Corporatewatch stated.

At the time the report was made, the vehicle was still submerged in the river waters.

The body is being preserved at Patjud Funeral Home awaiting autopsy.
