Tycoon Peter Munga on the Spot over Defying President Ruto’s Re-opening School Directives

Kikuyu businessman Peter Munga is on the limelight after snubbing President William Ruto’s directive on schools reopening.

On Friday, Ruto ordered all educational institutions to cease operations indefinitely until the threat posed by the ongoing heavy rainfall subsides.

According to disgruntled parents, tycoon Munga who owns the Pioneer International School in Maragua, Murang’a County has allegedly coerced parents to bring their children to school and forced them to pay school fees.

“Pioneer international School in Maragua, Muranga has pressured parents to send their sons back to school or else seek an alternative school. As we speak 3/4 of the Population is back due to fear. We are being compelled to deposit school fees or else. Imagine they threaten any kid left behind in syllabus coverage atajipanga. They offer the CBC curriculum like any other normal private school, why defy the Ministry of Education as well as the president’s directive?” A disgruntled parent told a renowned blogger on X.

Out of fear more than two-thirds of the parents have allowed their children back than to struggle to search for a new school.

The parents are calling on the relevant government agencies to intervene.
