Film Classification Board Urges Artists to Tap into Government Opportunities for Growth

The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) has urged upcoming creatives to leverage on the various initiatives under the Talanta Hela, as well as other empowerment programs being implemented by various Government agencies for socio-economic empowerment.
Speaking during a stakeholders engagement forum in Kisumu County, on 16th September 2024, KFCBs Acting Chief Manager, Corporate Services, Nelly Muluka, pointed out that the Government has rolled out various programs aimed at helping creatives showcase and monetize their talents.
Ms. Muluka indicated that the KFCB has anchored its programs to the fifth pillar of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), and other relevant Government programs in a bid to create a facilitative regulatory environment for creatives to showcase and monetize their talents.
“We are committed to ensuring that we provide the necessary interventions to creatives to help them monetize their talents, she said, adding that the KFCB will continue to engage all stakeholders,” said Muluka.
She urged creatives to produce content that conforms to Kenyas culture, moral values, and National aspirations, noting that there is money in audio-visual content that is suitable for family viewing.
The CAFIL program which targets stakeholders in the creative industry will be implemented in Nakuru, Embu, and Mombasa, before being rolled out to other regions in Kenya.
