Man stabbed to death while intervening in a couple’s fight in Huruma

A twenty-nine-year-old was stabbed to death in the Huruma area of Nairobi after he tried intervening to stop a fight between a couple.

According to the police, the young man identified as John Olando Ambwaye was stabbed in the neck and bled to death after being rushed to a local hospital during the incident yesterday in the afternoon hours.

The couples with who Olando was intervening to stop the fight were his neighbors.

Witnesses told police the husband had hit and floored his wife in the confrontation when Ambwaye tried to intervene and stop the same.

It was then that the assailant picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed him in the neck.

Police said he vanished from the scene. A team of detectives visited the scene soon after the incident and launched a hunt on him in vain.

The body of the man was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy. The injured woman was taken to a local clinic where she was attended and discharged.

Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said they are looking for a known suspect in the murder.

He said police did not recover the killer’s weapon in the incident.

Elsewhere in Nambale, Busia County’s Mungatsi location, the lifeless body of a male adult was found in a maize plantation within Mundembu village.

Police officers rushed to the scene and found Collins Kamano Lubanga, 25 dead with deep cuts on the head, chest, and both arms.

The body was removed to Butula Sub-County hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.

No arrest has been made so far and police said they are investigating murder.
