BIC Elevates African Talent in a Groundbreaking Metaverse Gallery

Demonstrating its dedication to empowering youth through creativity and self-expression, BIC proudly announces the unveiling of its pioneering art gallery in the African Metaverse.

This initiative builds upon the foundation laid by the company’s flagship art competition, Art Master Africa, which encourages aspiring artists to unleash their creativity using BIC ballpoint pens.

The Art Master Africa Metaverse gallery is now live and accessible here.

Throughout the year, the gallery will feature a diverse array of artwork from talented individuals across Southern, Eastern, and West Africa.

Visitors to the gallery will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in captivating pieces crafted with the iconic BIC Cristal ballpoint pen.

Additionally, art enthusiasts will be able to purchase physical versions of the exhibited artwork, thereby supporting the burgeoning talents within the region.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Greg Alibaux, Marketing Director for the Middle East and Africa at BIC, remarked, “Self-expression lies at the core of our ethos, mirroring one of our primary product categories, Human Expression. We firmly believe in the power of self-expression, with art serving as one of its purest forms.

Art Master Africa stands as a testament to our commitment to nurturing talent and empowering youth.

Year after year, we witness the remarkable talent emerging from Africa, a source of immense pride for us.

The decision to launch the Art Master Africa gallery in the metaverse stems from the resounding success of the competition in the region and beyond.

This gallery aims to seamlessly blend the enchanting allure of creativity with the transformative potential of technology and innovation, thereby bringing the creations of African talent to life.”

This year’s collection will feature works by prominent artists such as Griffin Lundi, Maiku Fred, Gayi Eric, and Stanley Were, among others.

The sixth edition of Art Master Africa will commence this year in Africa and the Middle East.

Originating in South Africa in 2017, Art Master Africa has since expanded its reach across the African continent, followed by entry into the Middle East in 2021.
