‘FINYA Computer itoe dollar’ Government rolls out online training program

The government has announced a free online training program to empower the youth with digital skills and enable them to access opportunities in the online job market.

‘FINYA Computer Free Online Training Programme,’ comes as a response to President William Ruto’s recent encouragement for the youth on leveraging technology for livelihood.

The program will be spearheaded by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection gearing towards providing the youth with crucial knowledge and skills essential for success in the digital economy.

“The objective of the program is to equip young people with knowledge, skills, and attitudes for digital/online work to enable decent work and earn an income from the Gig & Freelancing.” The notice read in part.

The training is also set to encompass a range of modules tailored to accommodate diverse skill levels and interests.

Basic Modules, including Data Entry, Digital Marketing, and Virtual Assistance, will be featured in the program, providing participants with foundational skills crucial for engaging in online work.

In addition, an Advanced Module focusing on Graphic Design will be offered for those looking to further refine their expertise in this specific field.

It is scheduled to run from 8 am to 5 pm, the program is slated to take place from March 4 to 8, 2024.
