Floods wipe homes in Mai mahiu, twenty reported dead multiple hospitalized

Over 20 people are feared dead after flash floods ravaged Mai Mahiu area in Nakuru County early Monday, April 29.
The floodwaters are reported to have originated from a nearby river that broke its banks.
Rescue operations are currently ongoing, although they have been hampered by a power blackout.
The Kenya Red Cross says that several people have been pulled from the rubbles and taken to a health facility in Mai Mahiu.
The Kenya Police, Nakuru County Disaster team, Kenya Red Cross and community members are at the scene.
Naivasha police commander Stephen Kirui has confirmed the incident noting that several others have been rushed to Naivasha Hospital for treatment.
