58 Human Trafficking Victims Rescued in Kitengela, Two Suspects Arrested

A joint operation by the Transnational Organized Crime Unit and Kitengela Police Station has led to the rescue of 58 Ethiopian nationals from a house near the House of Deliverance Center in Kitengela. Authorities arrested two Kenyan suspects in connection with the incident.

The operation was launched following a tip-off from concerned members of the public, who reported suspicious activity involving a group of Ethiopians confined in a maisonette in the area.

Acting swiftly, law enforcement officers raided the premises and found the victims in a distressed state—weak, malnourished, and without identification documents.

Two Kenyan suspects, identified as Daniel Nduati Kingoo and Peter Maina Kimemia, were found at the scene and taken into custody. Preliminary investigations indicate that the victims had been held at the location for three days, awaiting transportation to South Africa as part of an illegal human trafficking network.

Authorities have since relocated the rescued individuals, with 28 being escorted to Kitengela Police Station and the remaining 30 taken to Isinya Police Station. The two arrested suspects have been transferred to Muthaiga Police Station for further interrogation.

In addition to the arrests, a Honda motorcycle with registration number KMGK 123T was recovered from the compound and is currently being held at Kitengela Police Station as evidence.

Police have assured the public that investigations are ongoing to dismantle the trafficking network and bring all perpetrators to justice.
