Makadara Member of Parliament George Aladwa has promised to work with Deputy President Kithure Kindiki in the fight against killer brews and substandard alcohol that is killing young people.

Aladwa who congratulated Kindiki, said alcoholism is also a big problem in Nairobi and that more resources are needed to fight it.

He said the fight against alcoholism was only being done in central Kenya yet Nairobi is suffering as well.

“I want to congratulate Kindiki as our new Deputy because he deserves it and has shown his capacity as the Cabinet Secretary for Interior.” Aladwa stated.

The legislator said that the fight against killer brews, which are domiciled under the office of the Deputy President, should be conducted nationally and not just in one region.

“Here in Nairobi it is also a big problem, especially in the slum areas and we as the leaders in this country are ready to work with him in whatever way to curb it,” he said.

Aladwa called on the second lady Joyce Kindiki to also take up programs that will uplift the community.

He added that Kindiki’s experience as a lawyer, lecturer, legislator, and Cabinet Secretary makes him better placed to serve Kenyans.

“He is the right man for the job and he is going to elevate the standards of this position to what we have had.” He said.

Aladwa defended the national assembly and the senate for impeaching embattled former DP Rigathi Gachagua saying it was good for the country’s peace and stability.
