Business Booms at 6th Kitui Agricultural Show and Trade Fair

The County Government of Kitui has inaugurated the 6th edition of the Kitui Agricultural Show and Trade Fair 2024 today, marking a pivotal event in the region’s agricultural calendar.

Held at the Kitui Showground, the fair has attracted a diverse array of exhibitors, including local farmers, agricultural companies, and trade organizations.

The event aims to showcase the latest advancements in agricultural technology, innovations, and practices, providing a platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas and knowledge.

The theme for this year’s fair: “Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture for Food and Nutrition Security and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth”, reflects the county’s strategic focus on leveraging modern techniques to boost productivity and sustainability in agriculture.

Various activities, including exhibitions and live demonstrations, are scheduled throughout the event, offering participants a comprehensive understanding of the latest trends and practices.

Local farmers expressed enthusiasm for the fair, citing it as an invaluable resource for gaining insights into advanced farming methods and business opportunities.

“The agricultural show is always a highlight of the year for us. It’s an excellent chance to learn and grow our farming businesses,” said Kimunyu Musyoka, a participant at the event.

In addition to the agricultural exhibits, the trade fair features a wide range of products and services, from machinery and equipment to agrochemicals and livestock feed. The presence of financial institutions and government agencies also provides attendees with access to crucial information on funding and support programs available to the agricultural sector.

The Kitui Agricultural Show and Trade Fair will run for three days, concluding on July 27, 2024.
