Following the heartbreaking announcement of Jubilee Christian Church (JCC) general overseer and founder Bishop Allan Kiuna’s death on Tuesday, the family requested some privacy as they go through the challenging time of mourning and reflection.
The JCC general overseer and founder Bishop Allan Kiuna died at a hospital in Nairobi where he had been admitted.
Reverend Kathy posted a schedule of five services in honor of her husband, which led to critical responses on social media, questioning if appointments were still needed to visit her home for mourning.
Some netizens blasted his widow, Reverend Kathy Kiuna, while others expressed their sympathy.
This backlash harks back to a previous controversy when Kathy stated on Citizen TV’s “One on One” show with Lilian Muli that no one could visit her house without an appointment.
She emphasized that her home is private, reserved for her family, and not a church home and the statement has sparked mixed reactions online..
Following the bishop’s death, social media users urged Kathy to lower her ego, with some questioning why she couldn’t heal her husband through prayer despite being a clergywoman.
Bishop Allan Kiuna, who had been battling cancer, passed away on Tuesday in a Nairobi hospital.
The memorial services will commence on Wednesday and continue until Friday, July 12, at JCC Parklands, running from 5 pm to 7:30 pm.
Another service will be held on Saturday, July 13, from 2 pm to 5 pm, culminating a special worship service on Sunday, July 14, starting at 9 am, in honor of Bishop Kiuna’s life and legacy.
