The government plans to invest in enhancing the competencies of human resource graduates, according to Hon. Justin Muturi, Cabinet Secretary for the State Department for Public Service and Human Capital Development. Speaking at the graduation ceremony for over 708 Certified Human Resource Professionals (CHRP) at the Bomas of Kenya, Muturi highlighted the crucial role the graduates will play in shaping Kenya’s workforce.
“It is with immense pride and honor that I join you today in celebrating this significant milestone—the certification of 708 CHRP finalists. This day is not only a testament to your perseverance, dedication, and hard work but also a recognition of the critical role you will play in shaping the future of Kenya’s workforce,” he said.
The former Attorney General emphasized that the role of HR professionals extends beyond administrative tasks, positioning them as key players in strategic decision-making, organizational culture, and employee well-being. He expressed gratitude to the HRMPEB Board for allowing him to preside over the fifth certification ceremony, praising the board’s commitment to high standards in HR practice.
He further acknowledged the efforts of training institutions and stakeholders for supporting the development of the graduates. Muturi noted that the certification is “more than a credential—it is a gateway to influence, impact, and transformation.”
“As certified HR professionals, you are stepping into a world where your role is pivotal to the success of organizations across every sector,” he added.
Muturi reaffirmed the government’s recognition of HR professionals’ crucial role in Kenya’s socio-economic development and pledged continued investment in their competency development.
