Kiharu Member of Parliament and Budget and Appropriations Committee Chair Ndindi Nyoro has assured Kenyans that essential expenditures, such as the employment of Junior Secondary School (JSS) teachers and subsidised fertiliser, will not be affected by upcoming budget cuts.
Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro announced that the 46,000 JSS teachers currently on internship will be transitioned to permanent and pensionable positions, ensuring fair compensation.
Highlighting the significance of agriculture, he confirmed that subsidised fertiliser would continue to be available to farmers, with Sh10 billion allocated for this purpose in the new budget.
Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, a staunch supporter of President William Ruto, also assured that the Sh2.25 billion allocated for milk price stabilisation would remain intact to support dairy farmers during the rainy season.
Additionally, the coffee cherry fund will receive an extra Sh2 billion, bringing its total to Sh6.8 billion.
Despite these commitments, Kenyan leaders will review the proposed budget and implement a reduction of about Sh177 billion.

Elsewhere President William Ruto signed the IEBC (Amendment) Bill into law in an event held at KICC today.
This Bill signifies a crucial step resulting from the discussions held by the National Dialogue Committee.
The enactment of this legislation will establish the electoral management framework, paving way for the appointment of new IEBC commissioners.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagus, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula and other Kenya Kwanza leaders were present.
Azimio leaders Raila Odinga and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka were also present during the signing event.
The bill passed by Parliament is based on the recommendations of the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report.
