In a notable move to strengthen local security, the Kitui County Government has provided vital supplies to support the training of 254 newly recruited National Police Reservists (NPR).
The materials were handed over in a ceremony at the Kitui Police Station, officiated by Stephen Salee, Kitui’s Chief Officer for Decentralized Unit, representing the Governor.
The training program, set to commence on Monday 11 November, 2024 at Mwingi Teachers College, will span one month.
Among the supplies provided by the county government are mattresses, bathing basins, bed sheets, and blankets to ensure the new recruits have the necessary amenities during their training period.
Kitui County Police Commander Madam Lea Kithei and County Criminal Investigation Officer Madam Cecilia Mugambi received the supplies on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, expressing appreciation for the county’s active role in supporting law enforcement efforts.
This initiative reflects Kitui County’s commitment to enhancing security by investing local resources in training and supporting law enforcement personnel.
It marks a collaborative effort to strengthen security infrastructure and better equip reservists to serve and protect their communities.
