Son to the late former governor of Nyeri governor Nderitu Gachagua has defended the deputy president on the allegations that he disinherited his father’s properties.
The son refuted the allegations saying that the DP has taught him about business and that the estate of his late father has been handled in a way his Dad would be satisfied.
“My uncle has taught me a lot about business, the estate of my late father has been handled in a way he would have been satisfied with. So kindly, stop using my family’s loss and bereavement as a means to make relevant or propagate you’re fledging political career.” He wrote on X.
The son was responding to Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly Robert Alai who asked about his whereabouts.
“Where is Ken Nderitu? He is over 35 years old now. He asked Rigathi to teach him how to run a family business but he is nowhere to support his case.” Alai had asked.
Previously, DP Gachagua condemned his political detractors for involving his late brother’s will in the impeachment motion against him.
In his opening statement, senior Counsel James Orengo accused the DP of irregularly obtaining funds from his late brother’s accounts.
Speaking on Wednesday during the impeachment hearing, Orengo expressed doubts about how Gachagua executed his brother’s Will, which has become the subject of the impeachment case.
He claimed that the Deputy President “raided” his brother’s accounts and used the proceeds to acquire prime properties.
