Man surrenders to police after killing his wife, injuring 1-year-old baby

A middle-aged man in Kwale has surrendered himself to police after killing his 25-year-old wife over unknown issues.

James Njemo Kauli surrendered himself to Kanani Police Station accompanied by his friend and informed the officers of the gruesome murder.

Samburu Sub County police Commander (OCPD) Lydia Mambo said that James Njemo Kauli attacked the deceased namely Pauline Mbeyu Kaingu over an unknown motive.

She added that the suspect also attacked their one-year-old minor who is currently fighting for her life at the Coast General Referral Hospital.

“A one-year-old minor is fighting for her life at the Coast General Referral Hospital following the attack. She suffered a deep cut in her head and skull.” The OCPD said.

The OCPD said they found the deceased in the sitting room of their house with deep wounds in the upper part of her body and the skull had been slushed with open wounds.

“The deceased was found killed in the sitting room of the house with multiple deep injuries on the upper part of the body. Her skull had been slashed with open wounds”. She explained.

She said the suspect had dismembered the deceased body and chopped off several of her fingers.

“Her right hand little and ring fingers had been chopped and dismembered.” she noted.

The Samburu police Boss called on married people to solve their duties amicably and not kill and injure each other.

“I call upon residents to avoid anger during arguments and resolve issues in amicable ways, and if a relationship is not working leave and avoid killing or being killed.” she added.

The deceased body has since been moved to the Coast General Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
