Media fraternity mourns the passing of CGTN’s Nick Mudimba

The media Fraternity is mourning the passing of Nick Mudimba, a seasoned journalist who worked with CGTN, KTN, Radio Africa, and Switch TV, who collapsed and died at his home in Syokimau, Machakos County, yesterday evening.

Confirming his passing his family stated that he was undergoing treatment for health complications, including high uric acid levels.

The family said Mudimba had taken his prescribed medication before collapsing and experiencing convulsions.

He died at home, and his body was later taken to the mortuary awaiting an autopsy.

Mudimba was well known for his passion for sports passed away shortly after he had watched the Kenya-Gabon Match which he had rallied Kenyans on Social Media to attend

“Let’s fill Nyayo Stadium on Sunday. Gabon must fall. There’s something about this Harambee Stars team,” Mudimba wrote on X.

His colleagues expressed their grief over his passing, remembering him as vibrant and kind. They described him as a good and helpful journalist.

“Nick Mudimba was one of the kindest individuals you’d ever meet in the world of sports.

He had a warm and welcoming personality. You’ve gone too soon, kijana wa Busia. Rest in peace,” sports journalist Kevin Teya mourned.

“Eternal rest grant unto Nick Mudimba oh Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace,” Citizen TV’s Mashirima Kapombe stated.

“We were together cracking jokes at the AU Media Center in Addis Ababa. You assisted me install the latest Audio Sound Booth Recorder on my laptop. Rest in Peace my brother Nick,” Seth Olale eulogized the late journalist.

Mudimba’s passing comes as Journalists struggle to come to terms with the passing of a youthful journalist Fredrick Parsayo who was found dead at his home in Kinoo, Kikuyu last week Friday.

While announcing the passing of Parsayo, the National broadcaster said the matter has been reported to Kinoo Police Station and investigations are underway to establish the circumstances of his death.

His body was moved to St. Teresa Mortuary, where a post-mortem is scheduled.

Parsayo’s colleagues described him as a valued member of the editorial team whose presence will be deeply missed.
