A Kilifi court sentenced a pedophile to life in jail after convicting him of 10 counts of defilement, indecent actions against minors, child pornography, and human trafficking.

Patrick Mbauni Muriithi was found guilty by Principal Magistrate Ivy Wasike of sodomizing two eleven-year-old male youngsters while filming and documenting the incident on his cell phone.
The offenses occurred on various days between August 1, 2022, and January 1, 2023.

Muriithi, also known as ‘Pat ARC’ and ‘Daddy’, was accused of recruiting, accepting, and housing youngsters to sexually exploit them.
He perpetrated the crimes at Mwembe Tayari in Malindi’s Kisumu Ndogo area, Kilifi County.

The magistrate sentenced Muriithi to life in jail for defilement and indecent actions on minors, which is the minimum term under the Sexual Offences Act No. 3 of 2006.

She penalized the defendant Sh90 million or, in default, sentenced him to 110 years in jail on the other crimes, but ordered that the penalties be served consecutively, so Muriithi would only serve the life term.

The prosecution informed the court that the defendant used to coach an under-15 football team and recruit young boys, offering them and some of their family members educational and financial assistance.

According to the court, the accused lived with several of the youngsters and sexually abused them while recording the defilements/molestations on his mobile phone.
