President William Ruto has reversed the decision to suspend the reopening of schools, announcing that all schools will now reopen on Monday, May 13.
The announcement comes shortly after the initial directive to postpone school reopening until further notice.
President Ruto made the announcement at State House, Nairobi, during a meeting with grassroots leaders from Laikipia North and Kajiado Central constituencies, led by Members of Parliament Sarah Lekorere and Elijah Memusi, respectively.
The decision to postpone the reopening of schools, issued by President Ruto last Friday, has now been overturned.
This signals a swift change in government policy regarding the resumption of academic activities in order to recover the time lost during the heavy downpour.
