Reprieve to Traders as Sakaja Orders Immediate Opening of Kangundo Road Market

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has ordered the swift opening of the Kangundo Road Modern Market, directing the Department of Hustler and Opportunity to ensure the facility becomes fully operational within weeks.

During an unannounced visit to the market, Governor Sakaja addressed traders and emphasized the importance of utilizing the newly completed facility.

“This is a significant investment, and it should be fully operational. The department in charge must conclude on the exact opening date after today’s assessment,” he stated.

The Kangundo Road Market is expected to accommodate thousands of traders, many of whom have been conducting their business along the dusty roads of Umoja.

The new market offers them a much-needed space to continue their operations in a more organized and conducive environment.
