Rongo Member of Parliament Paul Abuor has refuted the statement by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) that he was arrested over fraud allegations and loss of public funds.
Paul Abuor said he drove to the Integrity Centre denying the claim by EACC that he had been arrested and taken to the anti-corruption.
He stated that he was at the anti-corruption commission headquarters to record a statement as he had been requested by the officers who were at his home and office and conducted a search.
The legislator revealed that officers from the commission were earlier today at his private office and home with search warrants and were investigating a case of conflict of interest and not fraud or loss of public funds.
“Officers from EACC came to my residence with a search warrant about allegations of conflict of interest. I gave them the go-ahead to search my house, and they took me to my private office in Hurlingham where they conducted a search and told me to come to the headquarters to record a statement,” Abuor explained.
Paul Abuor said he has never traded with the Rongo NG-CDF to drill boreholes or construct classes.
“I have never traded with Rongo NG-CDF,” he stated.
In their statement to the media, EACC claimed they had arrested the MP and brought him to the integrity Centre to record a statement about his company Aztech Infrastructure Limited being involved in the drilling of boreholes in his constituency and building classrooms.
The anti-corruption further claimed that the company had so far received over Sh12o million; a statement in which the MP said he could not discuss private details of his company.
They added that his PA was trading with his company and the sub-county; Abuor said he could not speak on behalf of a company he knows nothing about.
