President William Ruto announced has today announced the second batch of Cabinet Secretaries nominees expected to join his government.
However, Ruto said the pending nominees will be announced once they are selected.
The head of state has also included opposition members in his list, notably ODM chairman John Mbadi and his two deputy party leaders, Hassan Joho and Wycliffe Oparanya.

- Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports – Kipchumba Murkomen
- Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs – Wycliffe Oparanya
- Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife – Rebecca Miano
- Ministry of Gender, culture, the arts and heritage – Stella Soi Langat
- Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry – Salim Mvurya
- Ministry of Mining, Blue economy and maritime affairs – Hassan Joho
- Ministry of Energy and Petroleum – Opiyo Wandayi
- Ministry of Labour and Social Protection – Alfred Nganga Mutua

Pending nominees include:
Attorney General
Ministry of EAC, the ASALs and Regional Development
Mbadi is an accountant by profession and is the current chairman of the opposition ODM party. He is also a nominated MP.
If vetted, ODM would conduct an election to replace him as chairman.
ODM will also seek to replace Wycliffe Oparanya and Hassan Joho as deputy party leaders.
Oparanya is the immediate former governor of Kakamega County and the former Minister of Planning in the late President Mwai Kibaki’s government.
Hassan Joho who was also an assistant minister in the Mwai Kibaki government is the immediate former governor of Mombasa County.
In the Ugunja constituency, a by-election will be held to replace Opiyo Wandayi as MP, as he will have to resign in writing, with the letter addressed to the Speaker of the National Assembly.
ODM will also seek to replace him as the minority leader in the National Assembly.
