By Shadrack Nyakoe

Shalina Healthcare, a leading pharmaceutical company, has officially launched its Consumer Division, marking a major step into the Over-the-Counter (OTC) and consumer healthcare markets in Kenya.

The move introduces global brands such as Germol, a personal hygiene brand with a strong presence in Sub-Saharan Africa, and Monalisa, a skincare line specially designed for African skin.

Monalisa was recently recognized as the Best Moisturizer Brand of the Year 2024.

Vikas Khandelwal, Vice President & Business Head for East Africa at Shalina Healthcare, highlighted the company’s dedication to healthcare improvements and job creation in Kenya.

The company’s expansion reflects its commitment to quality, affordability, and accessibility in healthcare.

Shalina Healthcare first entered the Kenyan market in 2018 through the acquisition of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Company (PMC), and later, in 2022, acquired Orange Pharma Limited, solidifying its place among the top five pharmaceutical companies in the country.

The company’s recent acquisitions of well-known brands like Kaluma, Sonamoja, and Sonadol reinforce its mission to provide accessible, high-quality healthcare.

Operating from its headquarters at Shalina House in Babadogo, along Thika Road, Shalina Healthcare employs over 200 individuals and supports a nationwide sales and marketing network.
