‘They remain my brothers but…’ Martha Karua speaks on Raila and Uhuru

Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua has stated that former president Uhuru Kenyatta and former prime minister remain her brothers even though she disagrees with the political directions they have taken.

Karua’s statement comes a few days after former president Uhuru Kenyatta’s meeting with president William Ruto.

“Uhuru Kenyatta remains my brother and friend just like I say Raila remains my brother and friend, but that political direction, I beg to differ.” Karua stated.

The outspoken leader said she respects the move by the two leaders as every person must be allowed to make a choice according to how they see fit.

“You must allow everybody to act according to how they see best.”

However, she warned Uhuru and Raila that if they believe working with President William Ruto will make him different, they are wrong insisting that if this is their motivation, they have misread the President.

“I’m saying if they are informed by a genuine desire imagining that because of joining him Ruto will be any different, I am telling them they are totally mistaken and they have misread the man.”She said.

Earlier this year, Karua reiterated her stance that, with or without Raila, she strongly remains in the opposition.

A few weeks ago, President Ruto and his predecessor Uhuru met at his Ichaweri home in Gatundu and days after the meeting, Ruto appointed several persons allied to the former President to key positions in his administration, with at least three of them landing Cabinet positions.

They include former CS Mutahi Kagwe and former Governors William Kabogo and Lee Kinyanjui.
